Dental Surgeon

I qualified with an honours degree in Dentistry from Trinity College Dublin in 2008. I have since worked in general practice in Galway City and county. I thoroughly enjoy working as a General Dental Practitioner. I have a keen interest in restorative and paediatric dentistry. I am very aware that attending for a dental appointment is a daunting thought for many. With the use of modern techniques and equipment I aim to provide comfortable, pain free dentistry and I welcome nervous patients.

Prior to becoming a Dentist, I qualified as a Radiation Therapist with an honours degree from City University, London. I worked following this in London’s Harley Street Oncology Centre and at the then Middlesex Hospital which was the paediatric radiotherapy centre for North London. I also worked in the radiotherapy department in University Hospital Galway. I find this has given me invaluable experience and knowledge in treating patients with complex medical histories and also developed my skills hugely in treating children. I participate each year in the free national oral cancer screening programme.

I regularly attend courses and lectures in order to keep up to date in the ever changing world of dentistry in order to provide high quality dental care to my patients.

I am married with two children and outside work I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. I also love to travel and read.

Carmel Kenny

Dental nurse

I qualified as a dental nurse from the Athlone Institute of Technology in 2013 and I am fully registered with the Dental Council of Ireland. I have occupational first aid and defibrillator training.  

I regularly attend courses to further my education. I currently take charge of the sterilisation process of all our instruments and equipment at Clarinbridge Dental in order to ensure we are compliant at all times with the Dental Council protocol for infection control.
